Local Conference The Church in Akron hosted a conference recently, gathering together with the churches in Medina and Garfield Heights. We were blessed to have six brothers from Pittsburgh share with us concerning the gospel of Jesus Christ. Through the brothers' sharing we were brought into a fresh realization of God's love for man. Every process the Lord went through was motivated by His love for us. I was especially touched by how, after His resurrection, the Lord interrupted His ascension to the Father to comfort and care for a simple, brokenhearted, weeping sister who was seeking for Him. What love our Lord displayed! I was again reminded that the Gospel is not a thing to do, but it is a loving person: our Lord Jesus Christ. That same love is in us today desiring to minister to the needs of sinners, showing mercy and compassion, and loving them to the uttermost. - C.M.
